Lincoln Clay is a war hero. The Vietnam veteran returns to his hometown to find chaos. His adoptive family was killed by the mob that is now running New Bordeaux. He embarks on a revenge mission. A new war to chase the mob out of his town and make them pay for the death of his family. In an effort to fight fire with fire, Lincoln seeks to start his own criminal organization. One that will match up to the New Bordeaux, terrorizing everyone. Lincoln’s people will meticulously and effectively flash out every single mobster.
The story, set in 1968, is very well written. It offers an excellent back-story for the player to enjoy. As the player takes over Lincoln’s character, he or she will love every minute of the intrigue and intense action. The game offers a myriad of exciting activities outside of the main mission.
Hangar 13 and 2K Games have done a great job of presenting an engaging and interesting game with strong characters and captivating storyline. This latest installment of the Mafia series offers a lot more in terms of the game world. Mafia 3 Special Edition has all of ten districts.
The game is fun and enjoyable. There is great acting, and the soundtrack only does more for an already great gaming experience. The action is brutal and entertaining in equal measure. Gamers find these two things incredibly satisfying.

This game is a step up from previous installments of the same series. The gunplay is just the right amount of, for lack of a better word, ‘bad ass’. Mafia 3 rewards the player with city driving and stealth.
Right at the beginning of the game, one can tell that this will be a one of a kind gaming experience. With advanced innovation, the game strives to provide the player with a good time. However, the game never really reaches climax. It never really reaches a point where one can say that they are in the thick of it. There are some graphics problems. The latter is not much of a problem if one switches up cars, costumes, and such.
There are a standard and deluxe version of this game. The difference between the special edition and these other versions is in the trinkets. The Mafia 3 Special Edition comes with gifts and collectibles that any gamer would enjoy and appreciate. There is also a difference in price. However, with the Season Pass and other goodies, it is well worth the slightly higher price tag.
In this age of racism and other social injustices, it is great to see a medium that reaches so many young people try to bring some of these to light. Kudos goes to the Mafia 3 Special Edition for addressing social and racial issues.
All in all, if you are looking for a good time with lots of adventure and a strong narrative, this is definitely the go-to game. It is the perfect thing for an evening with the boys. There are some improvements, but those will not get in the way of a good gaming experience. Enjoy riding the city of mobsters as Lincoln Clay. Take back the town.
